Various Credit Card and Loans - Claiming Charges

Hi,

I've got or have had credit cards and loans from the following companies.

Capital One, Lloyds TSB, Cahoot, Mint, HSBC, Abbey (Now Santander), Barclaycard and Egg

I've paid off some, but six of the above i've defaulted and so am paying back through debt collection agencies.

I am looking to write to each of these and ask them for a list of all charges they've levied on my account since the beginning of time and then go back to them and claim it back (or have my balances reduced accordingly on all the debit I have outstanding, so my overall debt reduces.

Anyone suggest if it's easier to go down the SAR route, or simply write a letter asking for a list of all bank charges and pay £10 for them to do that instead.

Any assistance would be grateful and whether you have been successful with claiming back charges for late payment and going overdrawn etc on cards and loans.

Many thanks

There's a maximum statutory limited charge of £10 (including VAT if applicable) for a SAR.

You can't decide unilaterally what you want to pay for anything, including but not limited to a list of all bank charges. Banks generally only offer the services they advertise and for which they provide a tariff of charges.
