Anyone on here has experience of using https://www.blablacar.com ?

Just signed up to it, though I'm likely to be use it more as a driver than a passenger, thought it would be a good way to cut costs a bit.

Why? Car sharing was gradually written in to policies about 25 years ago, you can split costs, but cannot make a profit or that goes into the hire and reward category.

I'd be more inclined to take a pic of the car, reg no and driver, and post that to a nearest and dearest, with 20 min updates, just in case a nutter was driving.

Yes, I have hire and reward insurance anyway. I just find it a way to cut costs a little, if I haven't got a return from a long distance job.

As the previous poster mentioned, a profit wouldn't be made anyway, so wouldn't need to inform the insurance company anyway.

They have a sort of a feedback system similar to eBay, but obviously you start on 0, and need to build it up!

Cant remember the journey but i used google maps to check the distance.
5 seats available at £22 each for a 79 mile journey.

Think i would rather take the coach.

Megabus is only £10, London to Manchester. Cheaper if you book in advance.
