E-mail advice please

Hi,

I've just set up a new ebay account and created a new user name. I intend to sell specific items through this account and I'm keeping it seperate from another ebay account that I have with the hope that it might be successful and i can become an ebay store later. I also intend to set up a seperate PayPal account just for items that I sell on this ebay account.

I'm happy with the ebay user name I've created and I've also managed to create a yahoo email with the same user name which may be useful. (This is not the one i've used to set up the ebay account, I'm aware that for security I need an email address distinct from my user name)

My question is, when I provide an email address for my new paypal account should I avoid using the one that shares the same name as my ebay account. Will this leave me open to security problems?

I like the idea of people seeing that the email for PayPal payments is the same as my ebay name but not if it leaves me open to problems.

Any advice from people more experienced in this kind of thing would be very much appreciated.

I don't think buyers even see your email address (or if they do, I have never even paid enough attention to look, because I don't care what it is or whether it's similiar to their username or not!) .
I would just use whatever email is more convenient, can you not just continue using your old paypal without bothering with setting up a new one? Is it important to keep the payments separate?

You can't actually have 2 PayPal accounts of the same sort, if PayPal catch you they will close them.

My main concern is that I want to keep everything related to this ebay account in one place and not get muddied with everything else. So my preferred option is to have one email address to receive paypal and ebay information and one paypal account to keep any income seperate from everything else.

The current PayPal we have is actually in my wifes name but linked to a joint bank account. Does this still exclude me from opening another paypal account?

As long as you have different bank details you can open one in your name.
