Housing benefit for social housing tenants

Does anyone know about the housing benefit chaging for social housing tenants with more bedrooms than they need? My parents are living in the family home after their 4 children moved out and are now facing housing benefit cuts due to having 3 bedrooms.

Cant find anything about it on here or cab?

Thanks

  • Maybe if your family can't afford the extra rent they could apply to the Council to downsize and let another family have their family-sized house?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

  • Based on rent being £100 pw benefit cuts will be 14% and 25 % .
it works out to £14 for 1 bedroom and £25 for 2 pw etc.
