Good cattery in Luton/Hemel/Watford area

Options
Hi guys,

I'm wondering whether anyone has used a cattery in or around the above areas, as the person who usually cat-sits for us is coming away with us, and I want to ensure my lady is OK whilst we are away. We live in Luton/Dunstable area but are picking up another holiday-er in Watford on the way so dropping kitty off en route would be fabulous.

I used to board my dogs at appledown (kennel in Dunstable), and they were happy there but I'm not sure whether I want to board kitty next to a kennel, as it might scare her/wind her up.

I'd appreciate any recommendations of somewhere to board her, or failing that, advice on whether you think cats in general are OK staying somewhere where they can hear dogs barking all day/night. I've found a couple of places that look nice on google maps but would rather take a first hand experience.

It's my first cat, first time boarding, so probably over worried.

Many thanks guys!

I rang the vets and they said they couldn't recommend anyone, but gave me the number of a very nice looking cattery - http://www.sealawn.com/index.php

I'm waiting to phone them back, but thought I'd check if people had any experiences :)

    Thanks for the tips though!

    Its worth a look at:-

FAB are a non-profit feline advisory group and their catteries are graded on how cat friendly they are, not just a license from the Local Authority.

We used Orchard Farm cattery a few years ago and it was good for our indoor cats. There were heat pads as well as central heating, we could take our own beds and duvets and she followed their diet plan.
