BEWARE of ETA Travel Insurance renewal!

I was incredulous, outraged and furious when I opened my renewal
quote from ETA Travel Insurance this morning. We have never thankfully had to make a claim so were gobsmacked to say the least that our quote has gone up from £70 to (drum roll) £380, yes, you read it right £380 for exactly the same kind of insurance.
I understand everything rises each year, but I think this really an abuse.
Check your renewal policies, otherwise you could get a very nasty shock.

Seems like a dramatic increase, but there are numerous reasons why the price might have jumped - travel insurance policies very rarely load the premium because you've claimed, but almost always increase the price once you've reached an age milestone such as 65, 70 or 75.
You seem to imply that you were on an automatic renewal, but remember that you always have a right to a refund for 14 days after any annual direct debit renews.0 -
Inkpot,
I was 70 when I first took the policy out, the price £70, so one year later, nothing had changed with out health, they decided to
up the price by £310!!!!! as I previously stated we have never had to claim a penny........... thankfully, but this is how they repay decent honest people.
It goes without saying I cancelled the policy immediately, they were hoping no doubt it just might slip through.
Disgusting company. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0
