Wonga Block

After having been in a PDL nightmare and finally getting myself free of it, I seen a few posts on here about Wonga blocking customers from using their service, I was wondering how you can do this just so I never feel the need to use it again. I havn't had a PDL since I paid it off due to tips on here and peoples advice. Just a thought for myself.

Dont you trust yourself to not use them again ?
I take it your finances are sorted to prevent you from going back to wonga again ?0 -
Yeah I saved and paid off stuff to make sure when I get paid that its not all going on debt, I do trust myself I just want to make sure its never an option even if I wanted it to be.
I know what it was like to be stuck in a PDL and hated that part of my life, I won't go back to them even to lend £10 if I needed it."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

I dont think there is any way to block Wonga etc.
If you find yourself ever thinking about taking out a PDL, just take 5 minutes out and remember the pain and hassle you had last time using them.
Also now that your finances are back on track, save up an amount monthly into an emergency fund, and only use it for genuine emergencies (not birthday pressies/holiday/Xmas etc which should be planned for months in advance)0 -

Agree with the above. I 'had' to use Wonga a couple of times but DID always pay them back in full, just had to do a bit of juggling around of finances for a while. From what I can make out they are the better of all PDL's for coming to arrangements/instalments to repay etc..
Don't think you can block Wonga, just don't use them again if you don't have to.0 -
According to a post from this thread you can request to be blocked by Wonga
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4103861When you have fully paid of your debt with them, ask them to block you from using their site again. I have just paid of my stepsons bill, over the phone, they were very helpful and even offered a repayment plan, but paying it all in one go was a better option for me. I asked them if there was anyway they could stop him from going on and borrowing even more money, and they said they can block him, but he has to request it...0 -

So if you manage to get Wonga to block you what is to stop you in desperation going to any one of the many equally ridiculously named PDLs?loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
redpete you just beat me to it - I was going to post the exact same point.0

OP your finances are in good shape and your planning to put some money by for emergency so surely you wouldnt have the need for wonga. Keep an eye on your finances and stick to a budget.0

Hi, I spoke to a lady from Wonga when I paid my stepson's loan of, and I asked her if there was anyway that Wonga could stop him from borrowing money again, as he doesn't get any benefits etc. i,e he has no income at all... She told me, that after I had paid the full amount, they could block him yes, but he would have to contact them himself and request it. I am third party and due to dpa, i could not do it.0
