Doesn't matter - they have no power of seizure for not having an MOT in any circumstances.
They sometimes try to do so on the basis of "insurance invalidated" but, seeing as no MOT never invalidates minimum legal cover (the Road Traffic Act says it's not allowed to, even if the contract says it does), using that would still be an unlawful seizure0 -

The rules don't specify a garage for the repairs, just a "place where repairs are to be done" in relation to the failed items As long as it's pre-arranged you can legitimately drive round your mate's house if he happens to be handy with spanners.
Distance is no object for either the MOT appointment or the place of repair. You're perfectly entitled to live in Penzance and book your MOT (or drive to your mate for repairs) in John O'Groats if you want.
Finally (and the point that really needs correcting): Exeter is in Devon, which is the greatest County on earth, not Cornwall, which is a (very close) second only to Norfolk in reputation
You evil evil person.
Devon is a Cornwall wannabe, but without the Cornish pasties,
Cornish cream teas, all the beaches and coast, and with a whole
bunch of inbred cow lovers
Devon is the Manchester city to our Manchester United :cool:0 -

I'll grant you the pasties - that's what puts promotes Cornwall to second place
As for cow-lovers in devon, there may be some truth in that but I moved to Wales about 6 years back, does that mean I have inter-racial "interests"? :rotfl:0 -
