Nurse want to change job...and looking for a job

Hi there!

I am NHS nurse looking to "spread my wings" and look for other opportunities.

I am willing to (still work) as a nurse in a clinic or GP (or some sort of) or as something that sells medical stuff (like dressings or as a med rep) but my heart seems to be more of tech & gadgets selling/reviewing/customer service or retail store staff in one way or another.

Any advice please?

Best to put my resume online and get more chances of a job?

I think you will find the salary drop to retail and the limited career options a bit of a shock.

Try the GP/Clinic nurse there are so many different types/areas to go into.

Have you any specialisms that interest you?

What interest me is Plastics Surgery (mostly reconstructive) and dressings. Should i go fro NHS or private?

Is there a website that i can post my CV and actually be given choices of what job/s i want?

Stick to nursing or go with what my heart likes i.e. tech & gadgets?

The highest nursing qualification i got is a bachelor's degree in my country. the highest post-grad qualification i have accomplished is a Mentorship Course.

Whatever you do, do nto become direcdtly employed by a GP practice. The conditions and support are poor and while they have access to the NHS pension scheme etc, their staff do not.

If you like IT, talk to yourt HR / preceptorship leads etc. Is your Trust moving IT systems in the near future? This could lead to a secondment role using your clinical knowledge training / developing / tailoring the system to the local organisation. Have you thought about becoming a health visitor? There's a real shortage around the country or even moving to prison health? You'll find a significant amount of your work will involve MH, but if you're looking for a challenge - it's an area to explore.

I could ask our HR but not made up my mind yet. A health visitor might be nice but where do i start looking? MG is not my strong points.

I'm thinking that the salary might not be enough to pay for our monthly rent, council tax & bills. an annual salary of £25-30k would in my opinion sufficient enough.

Medical Sales sounds cool but does my qualifications be enough? would having a car be a must as i don't have one?

I am still geared towards something else different like computers, tech, gadgets, games and stuff. i consider myself an "intermediate" when it comes to computers and really love tech & gadgets and especially computer games.

As you appear to have some kind of health background, do you have anything constructive to say that would help the OP?
