Write to the CEO. It properly sets a fire under a company.
I absolutely agree with the principle of writing to the CEO but be aware they don't necessarily jump. It will need volume of complaints to do that.
When my car got my first G24 invoice from parking at Homebase I wrote to the CEO of Home Retail Group explaining what a bunch of sharks PPCs are. He responded by saying they weren't but if I forwarded my invoice details he would get it cancelled. I didn't forward the details as I wanted G24 to waste money on their letter chain :rotfl:All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -

When a member of my family got one of these extortion notes I wrote to every single shop in the site in question threatening them with the protection from harassment act. One of the shops seems to have had a word and the letters have stopped.
I've also written to my mp, and am going to visit him in person.
There have been hundred and hundreds of posts on this subject on these boards. If everyone took ten minutes extra to pass their thoughts onto the retailers and their democratic representatives these parasites would wither and die.
Edit: And citing the CEO is a very good idea. I work for an enormocorp and nothing brings an issue into the light faster.
Yep, that's exactly the sort of thing I was getting at. Letting these people know that they have angry ex-customers and angry ex-voters is surely the best way to stop this racket.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Yes, but when the next letter comes in he will remember yours. And the one before that. And so on. The penny will drop.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Of course. Which is why victims should write to the CEO and not to the local store managers. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

My first point of call would be to go in and raise bloody hell with the person aat the customer service desk, write to the store manager, and then tell them to stop sending me threats as they are liable for the actions of their agents.
This is easy when dealing with a supermarket that has its own car park ( or any other single owned/ocupied site) not so easy in a multple outlet collection of retail units type car park. From the Plain Language Commission:

Tempting, but pointless. Talk to the organ grinder not the monkey.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

All leaving food at the till will do is make you look a right idiot to people who don't know about the issues here, and cause younger friends of mine, who work in these places, to have to put the majority of the spoiled food in a sealed bin for destruction - when they get to it, they can't be sure how much it's thawed, and to an extent, what may be contaminated or suspect.
So a lot of work for some kids on the minimum wage, and no-one any the wiser, really.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -
