Update! I've now got an AIP due to meeting up with my (now) broker today - have told the vendors, and can't wait to see the EAs tomorrow and throw it all in their face. I'll be waiting until everything is sorted and they've accepted the offer in writing, and then I shall be raising hell with the woman I've been dealing with and her boss

I'm thoroughly looking forward to tomorrow now - I can be a condescending swine when I want to be, and I've swotted up via the FEA site on every rule they've broken
Happier now - just hoping for a phonecall from our buyers now to tell me they've done their mortgage paperwork today!

Might be worth waiting until after you've exchanged before risking your sale by blowing up against the EA0

I considered that, then realised that once the wheels are rolling, it's got !!!!!! all to do with them!

Update - went in today, armed with every single piece of paperwork I need and more (probably). Spoke to a really nice bloke called Jon who ran me through the Money Laundering check and affordability - genuinely chatty and pleasant. Then got transfered to the woman I have been fuming about who had a face like a smacked (ahem) and took details about the chain. I told her I hadn't received formal notification of my offer and she replied it'll go out at the same time as the one to the vendor, which I pulled her up on and said the OEA guidelines indicated that it should be done within two days. She kind of gulped and then kept very quiet, simply asking the questions she needed. She asked for a photocopy of the details I was carrying, but I explained that, as an appointed DPA officer, she should not be requesting information she did not require, should she? Another gulp and her attitude was gone.
DO NOT put up with smarmy attitudes, people - their "it's standard practice" cobblers after every excuse is rubbish. Pull them up and make sure they know that they are there to serve their vendor and nothing more.
I felt very smug leaving....

Another update for those that care

The vendors have just had an offer accepted on a vacant house and are instructing their solicitors on Monday. Talk about accelerating at some rate!
Happy as you like
