How long do the direct debits need to stay on the account to get the £100? The previous account only has my broadband and dual fuel, but I want to switch energy supplier, so the DD might get switched but then cancelled to be replaced by the new one.
(I will have to cancel the DD as they are already overcharging me and I would refuse to pay any more until I am satisfied with their final bill calculation)

Once the DD is set up with First direct and you have your £100 cancel it. It doesn't have to be used.
I set up 2 erroneous S/O's to myself (never used) to get the payment. Once I had my £125 I cancelled them.0
