Overnight in Heathrow Airport

I have a flight arriving at Hethrow T5 at about 10pm and then one leaving T3 at about 7am, because I have to collect my luggage and then check it in again in the morning we only really have about 6 hours so don't feel its worth booking a hotel as probably won't sleep anyway.
Has anyone stayed over in Heathrow Airport? Is there a lot of seating and basically to they throw you out if you are hanging around overnight. I have done it at Luton before and had no problems, but wasn't sure about Heathrow. would probably end up in arrivals T5 if flight delayed and miss last connection train or Check-in area of T3.
Thanks

Some seating but not much and most designed to not let you lay down.0

Do not pass Immigration but stay airside: obviously everyone who is airside has been through security so there is much less risk of theft.
I don't know Terminal 5 at all so see what you can find there. Otherwise, take the airside transfer bus to Terminal 3, and go through the lounge area (horrible, noisy and uncomfortable) towards the departure gates. There is some comfortable seating and a peaceful spot near the entrance to a cluster of gates: I think around gate 20. That would probably be the best place to spend the night.
Alternatively, the Yotel offers sleeping space with a charge by the hour, but it is not cheap.0 -
Me & my mum did this years ago the only hassel we had was the police coming round at about 4am to clear off all the know homeless people trying to get some kip.
It was quiet and I read most of the time and slept on the plane.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
