Does the above still apply IF the cardholder has since
1) closed the account
2) gone into DMP/IVA
3) gone bankrupt
Am sure there are other scenarios, but the choices above will give me the answer I need.
Thanks

I am not a lawyer but I don't see that the lenders liability are affected in anyway by something that's happened to the purchaser (with the possible exception of death).0

so you would think joint liability would still apply upto the six years (under SOG 1979) regardless of whether the account was still live?No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

This is what I would expect, although SOGA is not necessarily an automatic 6 years.
A pair of socks, biro or a light bulb won't necessarily last that length of time.
It's UP TP 6 years depending on the item.
What type of item is it?
What has the retailer said?
How much was it? (items below £100 are not covered).0 -
How about a 2K three piece - retalier most unhelpful as outside 12 months.
I am pretty well up on SOG etc anyway, just wasnt too sure how the closed account affected itNo Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
