HELP Overseas Medical Bill's

I became ill during a trip to the USA earlier this year, and ended up have to visit the emergency room at a hospital, upon being discharged I paid what the hospital said was the medical fees at the time owed and that there would be another bill of a few hundred dollars to follow, which never arrived. Upon my return to the UK I have submitted all the documents to my insurance company, they have since written back asking for more documents which include a breakdown of the treatment fee's and a medical form to filled out by my own GP.
When getting in contact with the hospital in the USA to send me an itemised break down of the treatment fees, they informed there was still money due on the account, so after receiving the invoice it appears there is several thousand dollars due, as this was added to the invoice after I had paid the original fee at the time.
After receiving this invoice I have spoken to the claims service who are looking into whether to pay out my claim or not, and they said forward the invoice that was sent on an email from the hospital and they will look into it. I asked if they could pay the outstanding balance direct to the hospital and they have said if the claim is accepted they can pay it.
I believe there is no reason why the claim should be declined as the reason I ended up in hospital was not from a pre-existing medical condition and was from something that had never occurred before.
Though when I submitted all the documents I only stated it for the amount I had paid at the time but did state on the forms there were more documents to follow but only for a few hundered dollars as told by the hospital and not for a few thousand.
I am just worried that the claims company will use some excuse not to pay and leave me with a big medical bill to pay any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Let your Insurers deal with it. If you have done nothing wrong e.g. not declared something, then you have nothing to worry about. Your Insurers will obviously want to check with your GP to see whether there are any undisclosed pre-meds and they will also query the US med bill. This is all normal. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
