tax credit overpayment

hello, received my tax credit award back saying i had been overpaid £1042,and instead of getting 2 payments per month totaling £290 .i now receive one of £147.I didnt give estimates but actual figures ,and my total income as dropped by £1500 P.A . -have thay made a mistake? any help please.

Unfortunately there is no way of answering your question on the information you have provided. You will need to post your income for 10/11 and 11/12 and your circumstances (children, disabilities, childcare costs) There are many ways an overpayment could have occurred.
