BMW electrics

The remotes for my BMW E61 both failed. My mechanic diagnosed that the Amplifier receiver module had been damaged by water ingress. We sent it away and it was repaired. It has now been put back in the car and computer analysis shows 'no faults' but the remotes either don't send out a signal or the signal is not being received. I would be very, very grateful for any advice

Take it back and tell them you want it to be fixed properly.

And don't write your entire post in bold in future.

You need a device, commonly available off of ebay, that will code any BMW key to your car and allow that key to open, close and start your car.

Very popular with car thieves I'm lead to believe.

If its been properly repaired (and not virginised) then it shouldn't need recoding, it is the original being replaced. Wonder if its just a cheap replacement thats been installed instead?
