Today could make or break my budget!  The car is in for service and MOT.  If all goes to plan I will be releasing some of the car maintenance fund to the mortgage fund but if it doesn't.... well we will have to decide what to do!  This is an expensive time of year with car service, MOT and insurance due and next month home insurance due!   An 8 year old car becomes surprisingly stressful to MOT to each year.

Good news the car has been serviced and passed the MOT so budget not broken.  I have a few other costs expected over the next few weeks but it won't be variable and I know exactly how much to expect.  Some other things have gone very right too this month so I am now projecting to be Mortgage Free on 2 July 2021 which is 226 days from now.  This is still very tight and every penny is accounted for.

I had a very upsetting dream last night.  I dreamt that the bank told me I was no longer allowed to over pay my mortgage and I was very upset! What is becoming of me!?  I've been extremely focused that last few weeks but I really do need to relax about this.  224 days to go and I can't be like this the whole time.

Might be because of the underlying anxiety of 2020... I had so many weird nightmare-ish dreams this year, I am sure it's stress connected. Being physically tired (running, cycling) and eating healthy (less sugar and carbs) helped with this.

@couth I think you are right, there is a bit of stress in the mix. Work has been crazy this year. I’m also uping the exercise and eating low carb and I agree this helps loads.

What’s new? I’ve worked out that I’m at 48% towards being mortgage neutral! Feels good to be very nearly half way there. 220 days to go. What that actually means is 7 more pay days to go before the final payment! I’ve also worked out that this month I’ve managed to achieve 18 no spend days. I’m extremely pleased with that and I think I can make it to 21 days this month with no spend. It would be more but tomorrow I get to spend a small fortune on tyres! This will mean I’ve saved a few extra quid to put into the mortgage fund.
