Hi Caeler, just popping by to say Hi.  Amazing that you will be mortgage free this year!!!  And good to get a bucket list on the go.  I've got a few things on my list of things to do once this lockdown is all over - I'd had them on my list for a while but who knew everything would be stopped for a year.  Sandy

Good service from both the passport office and HMRC.
    Pots looking really healthy. 🙂
Same boat as you on lockdown 3 (or whichever one this is...).
    Expected but still annoying.

Thanks @Grogged and @SandyShores for stopping by!
All is good in the world as I got a letter today from the Nationwide, due to my “loyalty” my savings interest rate will increase from 0.01% to 0.20%... woopwoop!

Ooh, an INcrease in interest? I'd forgotten such things existed!

I guess my letter is "in the post"... 🙄
Nice that they are doing that.

Woopwoop indeed!  That's double the interest I'm getting on my Sainsbury's Saver (0.10%).  Really annoyed that I didn't do the bank switch to Nationwide a few months ago and take advantage of the bonus cash.  Especially as I could double my interest.  Mind you, I think my Santander account is still 0.50% but maximum saving is £200 a month.   Can't believe the interest was so high last year, oh well it was good while it lasted.

It was quite unexpected! It is an old “loyalty saver” which used to pay a better rate the longer you’d been with them. It’s only that account, all the others are still 0.01%. I’ve just hit 10 years with the Nationwide.
Every year I record less and less against my personal saving interest allowance, so sad.

So I’ve been running the numbers again (again, again and again - I know I do this a lot!). With the last overpayment made on 1 January my term has reduced another 5 months to 10 years 5 months. My daily interest is now down to around £2.90. With the refund payment from HMRC I’m now targeting redemption on 1 June 2021. Sorry I keep changing it!

145 days and 5 pay days away.  No spend days have been good this month with only 6 so far, I’m consciously tracking them this month and I’m aiming for 26 this month! Eek!

So exciting to be so close, I would be calculating and recalculating and calculating again too.  That's what I did when I was close to debt-freedom.  Enjoy these next few months, its brilliant, well done !!!

I think it's disgraceful you don't even know your redemption date! 🤣🤣🤣
That's a whole month shaved off - amazing achievement!
At this rate you'll have paid it off by the end of lockdown...
