Need a cheap replacement seatbelt.
The dog's eaten one of my rear seatbelts so I need to get it replaced. The last time this happened it cost me £125 to get a new one fitted (2006 skoda fabia) so I'm looking for any cheaper options. The mechanism is fine, it's just the big hole in the belt itself. Any suggestions - would a scrap yard be a possibility?
And does it make a difference which side of the car it is, as far as fitting goes?
Thanks
(And the dog is now banned from the car.)

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Definitely try the scrapyard route first. Yes it does matter which side of the car it is for.
Don't ban the dog, just tie it to the roof

scrapyard/ebay
would have to buy whole mechanism as the belt is part of that..Sealed pot challenger # 10

These tend to be a common off-the-shelf unit. You may find a rear belt mechanism from a Focus or Rover 214 might fit. You just need to make sure that the metal prong fits the clip and releases properly as well.Never Knowingly Understood.

disagree
ok there arent a million different types of mechanism made but it would still need to fit the skoda properly and be able to fit at the right angle to work properly
i would advise scrappy or the good ole bay0 -
your looking at anyting from £20 to £40 off the bay..

they should be the all the same with in the brand that is skoda, vw polo, seat arouser and maybe audi. Check the polo forums (clubpolo) there are a few there that have ripped out the rear seats and willing to sell on bits and bobs and they are a helpful bunch
if you getting secondhand then you need to check the condition of the webbing and wear and it will fail MOT0 -
As they are very plentiful both in scrappies and ebay, don't bother with nearly fits, get the right one (probably the £20 mark) and bolt it straight in. Others might look like they fit but if their off angle, might not work when you need them.0
