Switching bank account - standing orders

Just a heads up, if you're using your new bank's "switching team" to transfer your direct debits and standing orders, they don't cancel standing orders at your old bank, you have to do this manually.

They set them up at the new bank OK, but (in my experience) don't tell you they can't cancel the old ones, so both banks make the same payment on the same day!

Which bank were you switching to? And who from?

This is normally picked up when switching accounts. Somebody's messed up.

I've recently switched and all of my SOs were transferred along with DDs.

How do I switch a few of my SO/DD to another bank eg: only utilities to Santander 123? Does the bank do it or I should call each utility company? Is it possible through my online banking?
    Thanx

You would need to call each utility company individually.
