Hi guys,
Sorry for posting here....
I had an old PC running XP which is connected via wire to my router.I had to reinstall XP from scratch and now dont have a connection on the PC.
I am on the laptop and the broadband connection is fine so the network is working.
But how do I add the broadband to the PC ?
Thanks in advance.

Did you install any drivers for a network card?0

As above, you probably need to install the drivers for the network card. Check in Device Manager for any items showing a yellow triangle with exclamation mark.
You will need to find out the make/model number of the card (Speccy will help you find this info), then find/download drivers on a PC that has an internet connection and save to a USB memory stick to transfer to the XP machine. How do I add a signature?0 -
As a alternative, do you still have the CD that came with the machine all those years ago? This installation CD should have drivers for everything on the PC.

Have you re-installed the service packs and the windows updates ?
If not you need to do so and you may well find your broadband miraculously connects.
Catch 22 tho if you can't connect your router.
If you have a usb modem that should work and you can download the updates that way.0 -
This is the right place to post the question.
Does this thing have a brand name and model number?0 -
