After ESA medical

Sent my ESA50 back on 10th july and got call yesterday to arrange medical next week. I have been on IB since 2006.
If I am found to be " fit for work" will I be able to claim anything else while I look for work ? My husband works so I know I will not be entitled to any income based benefits but can I claim JSA if I have been on IB for 6 years ?
thanks

You would need to claim IB JSA, so you would not be eligible for payment. Do you think that you are fit for work, do you meet the ESA descriptors?0

thanks for reply
no according to the descripitors ( if thats teh scoring system ) I would not be fit for work, would get 24 points but I know that means nothing , dreading the medical as have to travel 25 miles for it, hubby is taking morning off work to take me as although I drive cannot drive for more than about 10 minutes without discomfort.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
In that case, you can appeal the decision if you do fail the WCA.0

If you are currently getting IB then your ESA (if you pass) I should imagine will be conts based -not means tested, but only for up to 12 months if not placed in the support group.
Same assumption re: IB, if you fail and appeal - you would get conts based ESA at the basic rate for upto 12 months pending the appeal being resolved. (I'm assuming hubby is either working or earning too much to qualify for the Income Related element in either case).0
