Two months on and I'm still stumbling and lurching all over the place, MOT and car maintenance cost me around £400 this last month, and that's doing it on the cheap buying own parts etc.
May was two steps forward - three steps back. Had a pants week last week with all sorts of financial and family dilemmas, little restful sleep, just seem to be on the merryground again.
Just thankful this board is here to clear the fog and inspire me.The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Ok, so May was two steps forward, three steps back. So in reality you are one step further back at the end of the month from where you were at the beginning?
But had you not been doing the DFW/MSE stuff, pre-LBM type stylee, you would not have been able to take those two steps forward. So you would have been three steps further back at the end of the month from where you were at the beginning.
Am I making sense here or does another cup of coffee need to pass my lips before my brain works?
What I am trying to say is that you ARE making progress, an expensive car repair is not the sort of thing that helps us become debt free, but the way we deal with it, getting cheap parts etc, does help us become debt free.

I know exactly what you mean, perhaps I don't pat myself on the back enough ? I know it's your qualified job - but I really need to be more positive in life, dwelling and drowning in negativity of it all is too easy. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

See me I got a job I have !
Filled in my self assessment last week and coupled with the fallout of a tough couple of weeks emotionally and financially I decided once and for all I can't run my own business, not got the stomach or 'gumption' for it. Been struggling for six months and it's just not sustainable.
I start tomomorrow and really looking forward to home being home and work being work. I shall probably turn into Lois from Malcolm in the Middle.
Feeling positive about it and know that I'm on the road to recovery. Want to say that daily visits here are what keep me sane.
As far as the smoking goes - I've become an occasional puffer, but with a total change of lifestyle from tomorrow, it's gone.
I'm in trouble with one CC payment this month, due first week in July, not going to be able to meet it. Will try phoning them and asking for help until I know my payday, only ever missed one payment been late once in 20 years with them, (yep that card is older than my relationship with DH !) don't really know how it'll go.The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb
