British Credit Trust - SPPI
premiere

Hello.
Out of the blue the other day, I received a letter from British Credit Trust stating that they are reviewing the sales practices around PPI/SPPI and that as a former customer I should fill in an attached form asking them to 'investigate' my SPPI policy that I was sold or tick the box to say I was happy that I was not mis-sold.
I was very surprised as I used to have 2 agreements with them but these ended at least 2 years ago or more. One was car finance on a car and the other was a £3000 'loan' plus £465 credit interest that paid for the SPPI (Single Payment Protection Insurance). This 'loan' was never given to me, it was an internal thing for them where they sold me a policy and either retained the money or gave it to an insurance company (can't remember which). I still have my old agreements.
They go on to state that they will investigate but this is not an admission of mis-selling of that product to me. They also mention that being self-employed is also not a reason to believe I was mis-sold. (I was self-employed at the time)
I've asked them to investigate anyway and am not hopeful of any returns but the key thing here is that they approached me so I assume people are starting to receive similar letters from lenders?
