bathroom strip out

Please thank you,
How long do you think it would take to remove a fairly standard bathroom suite, replace with a new suite, move a towel rad to adjacent wall, tile and get out of dodge?
No electrics.
Bathroom is a standard victorian semi (so small!) and tiling is 3 sides of bath and half height so about 12m^2 or so

I reckon 5 days plus a Saturday morning for bugging out is this realistic or a bit tight?

How long is a piece of string is the simple answer.

This depends entirely on you, your ability and the time you have available. And also on if you have toilet facilities in addition to this room.

If you can gut the room, cap off where needed and go from there it will be quicker than trying to keep bits of the room working.

I consider myself a good competant diyer, it would have taken me a week of my time when I was little younger, now I'd say a fortnight.

Now how long is that piece of string.:D:D

Don't forget you might need to have the walls plastered, and allow for drying time. And levelling compound on the floor?

It really does depend on if the intention is to tile the walls or not.
If they are to be replastered and tiled then refinishing with skim coat shouldnt be done, the load capability of unskimmed plasterboard is greater than skimmed board and this can be important if large heavy tiles are fitted. Makes me cringe when I see the advice "yes, you can tiles over good tiles":eek:

Hi, thanks for the advice, I meant that I have got a plumber coming in and he said a week, so I wondered if that was realistic.

Should have said from the off ;)

The average bathroom from start to finish assuming gutting it and leaving it serviceable and completely finished is around 10 man-days.

    Cheers
