Ebay Seller Corrupt.

Well after nearly 2 year's on ebay,
I have just come across my first dodgy seller,
I won an item which said with postage was £20.07
so went to the pay now buttom,
and paypal would'nt let it go through,
then I got an email from seller
saying thanks pay now £37.07
so I have now reported said seller to ebay
as this is against the rules to change thing's
after you have won an item
and I have emailed the seller telling him NO
and telling him to put them back on sale
and to ask ebay for his fees back
not that they'd give him them back
and will probably freeze his ebay account for wrong doings

Presumably you reported him through the correct channels...? Otherwise precisely nothing will happen to him.

did he say why there was an increase for the postage?

is it coming from outside the uk?

I am interested to know as well where the sellers come from. Is he a new eBay sellers, or sellers with high feedback score?

If you pressed pay now, and it wouldnt let it go through, that may have indicated some problem.

was it an item purchased from overseas and the postage didnt calculate properly to the UK?

Well the complaint to ebay will almost certainly have no effect at all on the seller.

have you tried to resolve this with the seller at all, what are they saying is the reason they want to increase postage? Just be cautious here, be polite but firm with your refusal to pay extra and you might get away without a neg and a non paying bidder complaint.

yes I did report the seller (hong kong)
and I know what you are going to say,
but I deal with alot of honest sellers from hong kong,
never had a problem until now,
anyway the seller has contacted ebay,
and he has had his account hijacked,
just as well I refused to pay,
even though paypal wouldn't let me they wanted me to send it with as an electronic wire or something like that,
anyway I didn't as I smelled a rat then,
ebay are now looking into it,
although I have given them all the emails that this seller has sent,
he is still sending them
I guest this is so ebay and the hong kong police can track him down,
as they have asked me not to let on to them,
oops posted on here,
so I cant give you any name's
and they have taken it off my ebay account,
so it look's like ebay are actually trying to do something with this,
