Brought TV from Comet a few weeks ago. Went faulty within ten days> returned it, they've said it's unrepairable. They want to exchange. I asked on phone for full refund. They said that it is at store manager's discretion.
Am I right in thinking I can ask for a refund rather than an exchange ? Can they refuse this in favour of an exchange ? I'm going in this morning so could do with knowing ASAP.
Thanks

I'd suggest that ten days is short enough time for you to reject outright and claim a full refund. Whether the retailer agrees or not is the sticking point. You may need to go to court to enforce your rights.
I am pretty sure with the retailer in question they will probably try and fob you off with going to the manufacturer. Stand your ground and ask to speak to the manager.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
They were eminently reasonable. Didn't even try and talk me into an exchange.0

And for future reference, to help educate the world, the word is Bought not Brought.
If you Buy something then later on you can say you Bought it.
If you Bring something then later on you can say you Brought it.0 -

That was probably down to YOU being eminently reasonable too. Often posters go in shouting the odds demanding their "rights" and it is no wonder many shops are then more difficult to deal with.
Well done on a good result. :beer:Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

I can't stand "brung." I know it is supposedly a real word according to some, but it's horrible, almost as bad as "addicting."0
