very funny 'matthew w barrett'! it is impossible for you to have paid £1000 in charges, 5 years ago the additions acocunt was under £10 and even now is less than the £15 p/m you quote, additions is £11.50. Also did you know Matt Barrett is Barclays chairman. You must have a lot of spare time on your hands to write these stories!0

Oh, delusions of grandeur, although a strange delusion considering how despised the banks are currently. Good effort though0 -
Hi there, I know you wrote this ages ago but i'd be interested to know how you got on with Barclays. I have been paying the 'additions' for 3 and half years mistaking it for an overdraft fee. It wasn't until I cleared the overdraft after a pay rise, did i realise there is no such thing as an overdraft fee!! I NEVER agreed to the additions account which they automatically upgraded me to when I went over my £25 buffer and into this new £250 overdraft.... I have since been going further and further into this £250 overdraft due to the charges alone. I have just sent a angry letter to them asking for my statements to see how much I can claim back. I have been stupid and niave but that doesnt excuse Barclays for taking my money without asking. Let me know how you get on and I'll do the same..Matthew_W_Barrett wrote: »sorry, i know this post is old,(or if theres a more specific post) but ive just found i too have been duped into an additions account.Barclays have so far charged me just under £1000 for this service. Is there any movment against Barclays for this?
Ive just spent the last hour on the phone being passed from department to department without getting a straight answer.apparently they have a department spcifically for duped customers, but its not open till 8am.
I just wanted to see if i could read other peoples stories before i pursue this again in the morning....
your helps muchos apprecited....
