Credit Card payment from Savings Account?

Can i set up my credit card direct debit payment to be taken from a savings account as long as I have an account number and sort code for the savings account?

Apologies is this is a stupid question I just have always had it set up to clear from my current account and unsure if it can be done in this way??!

No, you won't be able to set up direct debits from a savings account. You might be able to manually pay it from a savings account in online banking etc, but not by direct debit.

Normally you cannot pay DD from a savings account.

You should be able to do Faster Payment transfers from a savings account. Set up a payee account: sort code and account number of the card's bank connection, then as reference your 16-digits account number. You can even set-up each payment days or weeks ahead, the specify the day you want the payment to leave your account.

Most bank's saving accounts operate this way. Just to be sure, check with your bank.
