Q regarding visa applications via post

Hi all,
I have to apply for a Russian Visa, and I was thinking of doing this via postal application. I have a couple of questions:
1) What is the safest way to send my passport and documents to the embassy? Should I use Royal Mail or is there another service?
2) On the website it states payment can be made by Bank draft or Postal order, but the only details that are given is that the payment should be in the name of RNT LTD, London. I am sure I will need
some additional information to proceed with the payment or is this really all I need? I never used a bank draft or postal order, so no clue what this is all about
Many thanks for your help!

It sounds similar to Indian visas - outsourced to VFS Global.
You could use a visa agent if there is one near you that you could hand your application in to.
That's assuming that you aren't intending working in Russia.
Or are you near any of the 2 VFS centres where you can hand your application in personally?
The advantage of doing it personally is that you can pay by credit/debit card or cash.
If you can't find an agent locally, your only option would be to apply by post.
Make sure you send to the right address.
You do know that you don't send it to the Russian Embassy - don't you?
I send my Indian visa applications by Royal Mail Special Delivery and have never had any problems.0 -
Hi Pollycat,
Thanks for your answer. I went there personally today, to make sure that I get my VISA by next Monday. Funnily enough, I also applied for an Indian Visa just a couple of weeks ago, and got this without any problems in exactly one week.
So hopefully the Russian work as efficient in London
