Low rate DLA and Working Tax Credits

Hi,
I was in receipt of low rate DLA care component for 3 years, a CAB advisor filled the form in for me at the time. I was sent a renewal form which I filled in myself, forgetting to put valuable information in/ticking the right boxes. As a result, the DLA was NOT renewed, despite my situation being exactly the same. Unfortunately, I've been working just over 16 hours a week and claiming working tax credit disability allowance. I'm appealing the DLA decision with the support of my doctor and welfare officer, but the revenue office is querying whether I should still be in receipt of the tax credits. What should I do? They've sent me a letter to fill in, which I sent back to explain my situation, but I'm concerned they will terminate my payments

You need to be actually in receipt of DLA to get the disability element of WTC and qualify at 16 hours. If it has been stopped then HMRC will remove entitlement to the disability element (and which may mean you lose WTC altogether depending on your situation).
There are other ways to qualify for the disability element. Did you start work and claim WTC at the same time? If so, did you claim other disability benefits before you claimed WTC (for example ESA, Incapacity benefit etc....)
