    Internet access back
    Money refunded including interest charged

The fraudster rang back last week a few hours after the new card had been received and activated OK. This time they were not given a pin number and got away with nothing. But the new card has been blocked.

So great they stopped it but did not bother to call us even though the fraud department is involved and there is a flag on the account. We only found out when we tried to use the card in a shop.

    This is the best bit.
They have no way of stopping this person from doing this.
So we could be getting a new card every week for the rest of the year. No way of knowing if it's been cancelled until a new one pops up.

So clever scammer that waits a few days then rings up saying my new card is not here I need cash?

Unless of course it's an inside job.;)
  • Telephone emergency cash.

Worked out the cash was obtained by somebody getting/using data from a company owned by RBS.

Looking at forums we were one of the first to report issues.

Does not surprise me that the mobile banking app has now been pulled.

Natwest/RBS need to pull the service until they can put systems in place to stop the fraud.

In these days of 24/7 banking. that is a no no.

And they need to seriously reasses their procedures.

TBH. Any 3rd party can stop a card. Simply by ringing any bank and quoting the card no.
At most banks this will prompt a call to tell you your card has been stopped and ask if you want a new card.
They should not be sending out a new card without telling you, if it has been stopped by a 3rd party.

So if you have upset someone and they can get your card details. Then they can make your life hell.

Why did they stop your card in the 1st place? If it was only your wifes details compromised. Then there would be no need to stop and replace your card...
