Hey all looking at buying a new laptop for around £400 give or take.
The problem is the more I look the more confused I get!
I only really use it for surfing and music also watching tv. Ideally I want something that will last so was thinking the better the spec the more futureproof?
Like the look of these few

Or maybe a samsung or Sony of similar spec.
Defiantly want something with a decent hd screen and a cd drive.
Any help much appreciated!

Just seen this seems really good for the money? Anyone know if this is a good buy?

Why would they buy that??
The is a perfect good thread running, on laptops for under £350.0 -
Sorry I didn't realise that. Also my budget is up to about £450 but obviously the cheaper the better! I just want the most for my money really!0

Also what is the difference between ivy and sandy bridge? And how do you tell which has which? On say a core i3 laptop?0

No one is answering because your requirements are fairly generic so mostly anything for sale will do. I'd thought any opinion may encourage others, but obviously not. See if you can find other running threads on laptops under x pounds as obviously no one else is going to join you here.0

Yeah guess so. I just want the best for my money really as there is a lot to choose from0

Why bother to spend all of it if you don't need to do so?0

I hope the Samsung RV520 is a good laptop as I have just ordered one from Amazon for £319.99! Can't say what it's like as I only ordered it yesterday. I only hope that I am as impressed with the laptop as I am with it's specs.0
