Hi Big Kisses

Found a good website here.

Why not send an electronic version of your letter to him, email address according to that website is stuart.rose@marks-and-spencer.com.

Why not say that you sent the letter a while ago, haven't heard anything, and ask when you are going to get a response. Put a receipt on the email for good measure.

Cheers

PP

Well...according to Royal Mail they still have no record of delivery.... however...I received a letter form Marks and Spencer this morning so they have definitely received my letter. The letter is from one of Stuart Rose's "assistants" (can't remember the correct title as I've not got the letter infront of me).The letter refers to my letter to Stuart Rose and also says that he has asked the person writing the letter to reply/investigate on his behalf, but I know that doesn't necessarily mean Stuart rose actually read the letter himself.

The letter apologises for any upset I experienced and advises that the Store Manger has been informed and an investigation will take place and that I will be contacted again when the investigation has taken place. As Royal Mail still have no information on when my letter was delivered I've no idea when they actually received my letter, but their reply was dated 24th May so I expect it will be a week or so before I hear anything further.I will of course report back as soon as I do.;)

Purple patch-Thanks for the website recommendation, luckily I won't need to use it now;)

Hey BigKisses :hello:

Just wondering whether you ever heard anything further on this - just been reading someone else's vent about M&S and it reminded me of your experience.

If you see this, do let us know whether any progress has been made.

Hiya.I did finally get a response from the manager of the store.I haven't got it to hand so I'll have to go by memory but the letter was an apology for how I was treated and an assurance that the member of staff would be dealt with(I can't remember the exact term they used:o ).The manager basically said that I should not have been questioned how I was and that I should have received a refund and that he hoped that I would return to the store in the future. He enclosed £20 in vouchers and said that the store was having a major "make over" and he hoped I would visit as they would appreciate my feedback and opinion of the "new look" store.

I've not used the vouchers as I have no intention of going back there but I was satisifed that they had taken the incident seriously and hopefully it will prevent anybody else from being treated the same way..in that store anyway;)

Nice one.

Don't let the vouchers go to waste though. If you don't want to go back, at least sell 'em on ebay! :D

LOL - how things change! In the good old days before cash machines and credit cards it was widely regarded that the quickest way of getting cash when you had run out, was to buy something at M&S with a cheque and then take the item back for a refund - which would be cash. They didn't even wait for cheque to clear first!! (though the peeps who told me they did this assured me they gave good cheques- hope so!)

They wouldn't accept a cheque without a guarantee card anyway which means they would get the money regardless-cos it's guaranteed by the bank!!.Therefore,of course you get cash back
I want money..........that's what I want !!:j

So it should still work!

(Not sure there were many guarantee cards around in those early days, though. I guess we were all more trusting then!)
