Glass Cover - TPFT Insurance

I have my 10 year old Vauxhall Cavalier insured with AA on a TPFT policy only. I taken then policy as I did not think the car was worth fully comp.

Now this morning I was woken by the local police who kindly informed me that my car passenger window had been smashed along with another 3/4 in the street.

I quikly called AA to ask if I was covered - I knew the answer before I called - Yip a big NO.

Then called Auto Glass and was given a stupid price of £138 to supply and fit and that included the 30% discount. :confused:

In the end I went to the local scrap yard and bought a second hand one for £10 and got a neighbour to fit it.

Now the questions are -

Does any TPFT policy offer glass cover ? If so who?

Can I buy a seperate policy for glass cover?

Or do I just go without it and should glass ever be broken just go to the scrap yard again........

I would love to hear people's thoughts:confused::confused:

    Glass cover normally only comes as standard on comprehensive policies.

    I think if your car is as old as to you only requiring tpft then you take a chance and use the scrappy again.

    All that i know of are only on comp insurance.

    If you dont need comp and you managed to get one for a tenner i would suspect your better off just carrying on as you are
