Stat Mat Allowance due to end can I claim JSA?

Hi Ladies and Gents
I just have a quick question, I was made redundant at the end of last August when I was pregnant. I claimed JSA for approx 4 months whilst looking for a job but then my maternity allowance started and JSA stopped. I have been an maternity leave with my baby since but my MA ends in September. So my question is quite simply can I make a new claim for JSA?
Please do not pass judgement I am desperately trying to find a new job and that will be my preference over the degredation of signing on, but I am looking at worst case scenarios.
