Holiday so fatties can loose weight

I want to take my daughter away this summer to loose a few pounds so not really interested in just sitting by a pool. Well I am but we are trying to find something more active so I can hopefully get her involved and excited about loosing some weight as she is lazy and low motivation.

We got a small budget and only place we have seen anything is for beach holidays.

Anyone know of any good ideas? UK based hopefully, dep on price.

We both don't do any regular exercise so easy stuff please.
My opinions are exactly what you would expect, my own...

We were looking at one in Scotland as there are all kinds of activities you can do.

Your poor daughter! I would hate it if my parents started telling strangers I was a 'fattie'. How old is she?

I think before you book anything you need to change your mindset a little. From your post it sounds as though you do as much exercise as her. Maybe if you were more interested in exercise she would pick up on your enthusiasm. Maybe make the emphasis on an action packed holiday rather that a fat camp!

It is easier on holiday to do more exercise as you want to see and do everything before going home. You need to make sure that when you get back you don't just go back to your old ways.

It might be a good idea to go for a holiday in which you get to try out lots of different sports (something like centre parcs?). That way if she shows some interest in one of the sports she could carry on when she is back at home.

You might get more ideas if you ask on the UK board rather than this one.
Do mind self catering? If not how about trying for a cottage holiday in somewhere like the Lakes or Peak District where you can get out and walk as much or as little as you like
If your budget lets you go abroad why not go for a city break and then even just going round the city sights will get you walking around

Take or hire bikes and ride them for a couple of hours every day?

    Cycling holidays are superb

    My thoughts exactly.

I wonder if your daughter has low self-esteem.

A holiday is what you make it....you can still have a pool holiday...but instead of sitting around it why not all get in and swim or play games in the pool...

If theres a beach....walk along it and see how far you can go...

If theres a nearby town explore it...

Its not just about making your daughter more active its about all of you being creative and making the most of whichever different environment you choose to holiday in

    What about Sark?

No cars allowed - you have to walk or cycle everywhere.
