House insurance for parents

I am looking for house insurance. I own the house and my parents live there.
I have been told that I need a landlords insurance policy even though my parents do not pay me any rent.
Is this right?
If so who is the cheapest to insure with?

Standard home insurance requires that the property is your main residence hence pushing you to landlords.
Do you have a contract with your parents for them living there or is it a more informal setup?0 -
David some brokers can arrange buildings only cover on a normal policy with family occupancy give them a try.

No contract just an infromal agreement.0
