in Credit cards
Hey Everyone.
I Currently jus ordered A captial One credit card nd i have a question which i cant seem to find the answer too. Is it possible to get cash back from a credit card, for instance when Purchasing grocerys at the super market and paying with my capital one card can i get cash back too? I have previously been able to get cash back from a Pub when paying with my Halifax One Credit card.
Any Help will be appreciated
Thanks

yes there are credit cards out there that give cashback if your credit card is a cashback one you will get cashback on groceries,in fact anything you use it for except using it for ,say getting money out of an ATM machune.please do not pick on me for my grammar,I left school at fifteen and worked in the building trade for 55years ,

Well i can use it at ATM's so i assume cash back from a supermarket will be fine?0

It depends what you mean by cashback. If you are referring to the cashback that you accrue by using your card for purchases, then there are such cards on the market. NOT the capital one classic card tho.
If you are referring to getting cashback when you purchase your goods (as in taking cash away with you), then no. You cannot get this from credit cards, only from debit cards.:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

What i mean is When I Pay for my Groceries with my Credit card i ask for say £50 cash back nd they hand it to me, like i said it works with my Halifax one Card.0

Halifax one would be a debit card, perhaps backed up with a visa or mastercard symbol.
You can get cashback from the supermarkets with debit cards - but not with a credit card.
If you could MSE's would be getting as much cashback as possible and investing it at 5.7% with icesave, before paying off their credit cards each month.:beer:0 -

If you read T&C's of your credit card any CASH advance is subject to interest charges immediately, therefore no interest free period as with purchases. This would be a very expensive means of borrowing which is effectively what you are doing.0 -
No, not from credit cards but yes from debit card (which is NOT a credit card)0

There are a few places i know that when you pay for things with your credit card you dont use chip and pin, you just sign for it instead, so maybe they just charge you say £40 for what ever your buying and they give you cash from the till, is this possible or am i jus talking a load of rubbish lol0

I think you are talking rubbish.
Companies have to pay a fee when using credit cards (much higher than debit cards).
Why would they offer you this service when it costs them?
It probably also costs them for debit cards but there is an advantage for supermarkets for you taking cash away from them.
They have less cash wich costs them money to loo after e.g. securicor have to paid to take it away in secure vehicles.
If you want a cash advance on your credit card it will cost you interest.0
