Lost in Post - refund

Hi - I sold some items about 3 weeks ago - one of the buyers contacted me this week to say he's not recieved his parcel. He's checked at the post office and its not there - fine - I'm happy to refund and will claim from Royal Mail... however.. stupidly, I emptied my paypal account a couple of weeks ago so it won't let me issue a refund.
Help! Whats the best thing to do - I don't want him to wait 2 more weeks for a refund while I transfer money back.. should I advise him to go via a dispute? I'm pretty sure he's genuine - he has excellent feedback and I've sent to him before..
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

i would explain to him that you would have to transfer money before you can do a refund
by the sounds of it he knows that you are honest . then take it from there

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
I do have a card linked to my PP account - for some reason, it wouldn't give me the option to refund that way.. ho hum..
Anyway - ended up setting up a personal account and sending myself some money via a credit card.
Panic over and refund done - now off to pester Royal Mail.
Thanks all
