in Credit cards
Hi Guys, not sure if I am posting this in right place, sure someone will keep me right. I need some advice. I had a credit card with Egg, was on a repayment plan, from no where Barclay card send me statements, I call and say I do not have Barclay card am told they have taken over Egg and now own my debt. I tell them until I receive something in writting I am not paying them. Three months later and still no letter, called them again, have been calling once a week for three months trying to get it sorted, they tell me that I need to be in arrears for three months before they will even consider putting me on a plan, I explain I was already on a plan with Egg they tell me they don't have to honour it, please can someone give me advice on where I stand with this I am not denying I owe egg money but I can not afford what Barclay card now want and do not understand why they can own the debt but not the repayment agreement...... Help please.
Cheers

I was on a 0% interest offer with Egg when BCard took over, and BCard didn't honour the interest rate either.0

Egg will have sent you emails to inform you of this change. Did Egg have an update email address for you? and have you checked for emails?
No point dealing with them by phone - you will need to write to bcard and explain that you were on a reduced payment plan with egg and that (presumably) your circumstances haven't changed and the maximum amount you can afford is £x per month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy, thanks, but there was no communication from them, and yes the did have my up to date details, been in touch with cab and apparently they have been overindated with complaints about the same thing, not that it helps me, wrote to them yesterday sent it guaranteed del, as recorded does not get signed for if p.o box. Thanks for your help.

Basically someone really would have not to have access to TV, Radio, Internet, Emails & post for the past couple of years, not to have heard about Barclaycard taking over Egg.
I can see why people are upset that Barclaycard may not be keeping to agreements Egg made with them.
But I simply refuse to believe that Egg customers won't have known what has been going on. Even when logging in, it was all over their website.0
