Negative Feedback

I am tired of buyers winning items and then making no contact. So I have started leaving negative feedback. One buyer never answered 2 emails over 10 days, so I started the Non Buyer Dispute, and still no contact from them. So after 7 days of the dispute I got my fees back and I left the buyer a negative feedback. The buyer then decided to answer my feedback with a negative saying something about he couldn't use the computer for 2 weeks because of an accident. If this is true, then surely get a relative or a friend to email the seller and let them know what's going on.
Am I suppose to wait for weeks until I get a contact?
I think it is unfair that, he should be allowed to leave a negative feedback when he was in the wrong.
Do you know if Ebay can remove negative feedbacks?

you can do a mutual feedback remvoal meanign both negatives are removed
do yu mean the other buyer never paid you??
if so you can get the money back through paypal
they paid me back immediately0 -
Even if the other party agrees to a mutual negative withdrawal the negative feedback still remains, it just is not counted as a negative in your statistics.
The way to do it is to leave feedback on the last possible day (I think its either 60 or 90 days after the sale) the probability is that the buyer would not realise you have left the neg and by the time he realises it is too late for him to neg you back as the time limit would have passed.
You need to be fairly organised to do this, but it definetly works0 -
if a person has a NPB strike made against them - they should lose their right to leave feedback for that buyer
its obvious they are going to leave a neg out of spite - which makes people unwilling to report them for non-payment or leave a neg for them
the feedback thing is v unfair

Find below my new email to non paying bidders; I sent it out today to all those that I can now claim FVF from.
It really is a last ditch attempt to get the money. I used to phone them but that was too much hassle.
You have so far failed to pay for this item. I would like to now spell out what will happen if you fail to contact me within 24hours and ensure I have payment within 3 working days. You have entered into a binding contract which you have currently failed to honour.- I will make a “Non Paying Bidder” strike against your account which will ultimately lead to your suspension from EBay.
- You will receive a negative feedback against your name which will highlight to other EBay sellers that you are a person with no honour.
- I will consider taking legal action to recover the funds.
If you do not wish to complete this transaction and do not care about EBay by all means do not pay and face the consequences.
Postal Payments by 1st Class post can be made to:- XXX
Your cooperation in this matter will be much appreciated.
Regards
It certianly kicks off a round of excuses like:-
"i surgest you check the payment methods cus i have a receipt for every thing i have bought and payed by paypal. please respond if there are anymore probs"
....hmmm no money from this clown in my paypal account and he has only bought 4 things....
Next day i am ticked off there will be a round of NPB strikes and -ve feedback from me with the inevitable tit for tat -ve. Drives me crazy and and has a serious impact on sales.
They tend to suggest that they have paid, or my address was false etc which is just a deterrent for other buyers. If it drops below 98% I will have to think of closing the account and starting again. I might add that most of my buyers are kids and do not care or think about the effects of their actions.........grrrrrrrrrr
Rant over...

The person did not pay for the item or make contact. So it was only the ebay fees i had to pay for, but i did get them back from ebay.
The feedback system is certainly unfair. As somebody pointed out, if the person has a Non-paying Bidder against him then he shouldn't be allowed to leave negative feedback for that seller.
I'm interested in the 60 or 90 day feedback time limit. I will go and try to find an answer.0 -
Is there not a way of leaving a reply to a negative feedback comment? I think it appears in the same box as the negative comment, right underneath it, and would allow you to get the last word.0

Yes, you can reply like this but the negative they have left you still stands and shows in your statistics. This feedback process is really bad. I left a negative to someone after not receiving goods and he left a bad one back, so now I have this negative and have done nothing wrong!0 -
I reported someone for non payment & waited for the negative, but they were removed very fast, hurrah.
If I want to buy something off someone with a few negatives, I always check whether they were the buyer or seller & whether it was a revenge negative feedback, I think leaving your comments re feedback are good, you can explain why.

I agree with what has been said already really. However, I think the NPB process is a better deterrent than negative feedback. People don't always read feedback, just look at some of the posts on this board.
The NPB process though has a result, 3 strikes and they are out.
AS for Non paying bidders not being able to leave feedback it would just help the scammers. Imagine buying something from a scammer who cashes your cheque and doesn't send the goods. He immediately NPBs you and leaves you negative feedback and under the suggested rules you can't leave feedback in return to warn other buyers that this scammer takes your money and runs.
