    Big news!

It has been confirmed by the BDC that she will receive her back-dated claim money!

They admitted mistakes on their part - not all of them, but enough that they knew we were not at fault.

I will share more details of the full process we went through in the future, once the wounds have healed a bit, and once I can provide complete information of today's events.

However, in short, what happened was that on two separate occasions she was told not to send B7 forms, and two other separate occasions she was misinformed of how much time she had to send certain pieces of evidence (I had to wait a week for some documentation to be sent out relating to my business, around a week back).

Needless to say we are ecstatic, and feel justice has mostly been served.

Thanks to everyone here for advice, I hope to be able to provide help to others who are going through the same problems, and maybe enlighten myself even more about why the process failed us so badly.

    Thanks again :-)

I'm not criticising in any way but as a fellow graduate (and until last week jobseeker on JSA) you need to be applying for a lot more jobs than the job centre tell you to. I applied for about 30 jobs in a four week period and I truly believe that's why I ended up with one.

They tell you to do 2 or 3 a week but I did at least 8 a week. Some of them I didn't really want (sectors that didn't interest me, etc) but it's a numbers game and the more companies have got your details and CV the more likely it is you'll find something that suits you.

Please stay on topic, this is about problems with the JSA claims process, not about best practices for job seekers.
