....I need to chase the college my son is going to in September (subject to his GCSE results). They have sent him 2 enrolment appointments. The first one is before he gets his GCSE results which is a bit pointless really...

Both of mine had to go & register the day they got their GCSE exam results - luckily I'd taken the day off so I could take them as their 6th form was about 12 miles away from home.

Going to try smoked haddock charlotte for tea. The fish was not inexpensive, but the rest seems fine. I have never made it before, but little bear loves his fish so much that I have to have a go. Until he started with his fish I always skipped the fish chapter in the cookbooks.

Darling father has bought me a new kettle with a mesh over the spout. This replaces the one which I am throwing out as it had a slug in. We only found the slug after the kettle had boiled. Poached slug is not a sight I will forget in a hurry and while logically there is no reason I couldn't just clean the kettle, I have just had to replace it. We are still not exactly sure why the slug was there, especially as we have a house sized dehumidifier in the kitchen now as well as in the dining room cupboard.

Tired as evil cat keeps pushing me out of bed. She doesn't want to cuddle, which is what I first thought, she just wants the best spot in the middle of the bed. I currently sleep in a fold out on the floor, fortunately, so normally I wake up and realise I am sleeping on carpet and evil cat is smugly in the centre of the foam and purring. Poor old girl is almost blind now. But still evil.

But I am definitely going for smoked haddock charlotte tonight, so fingers crossed

    Afternoon All
I have spent all morning baking with DD and she is washing up now.
I have a market research thing to go to tonight, it is worth £30 for doing it but I will miss Superscrimpers, I will just have to watch it on 4od,or on the plus channel if I am home before 9pm which I should be.
Dinner tonight is sea bass that I bought yesterday with salad and new potatoes. I am trying to use stock cupboard stuff all week if I can, just to keep the store cupboard in rotation.
Enjoy the rest of your day x

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Afternoon everyone :)
Busy day here today, having a late spring clean my little ones are so messy it seems to always look grotty in my house.

My contract for my new job came today, excited as I am it's going to be very hard in September and October until my first pay packet, but the lows will be overcome after a few months.

We had a lunch of part baked baguettes (2 days out of date but tasted fine)

Dinner tonight is something with a pack of bacon, pasta and cheese. My plan was to add to my store cupboard but after finding out the above I feel an inventive few months coming up

Hi Chums and Hugs for the down and blue folk,
I have had a nice pottering day ,a bit of painting,a bit of knitting and some reading.I just went online to print of a renewal for my disabled blue badge as it expires next month and I have found that there are 27 forms needed to fill in !!! thats half a blooming tree almost, not very money saving from my local Medway Council that's for sure I thought they were trying to cut back on paper work ,no wonder it takes 8 weeks to renew it plus I have to post this off to them asap, thats going to cost a bit as I'll need a big A4 envelope for it plus a £10.00 fee.Its all money just lately I wonder who has to read through all of these forms and what do they do with them.I have had a disabled badge for nealy 12 years and have an adapted car.You wouldn't believe some of the questions I have to fill in,still it must keep someone in work I suppose.
Right I'm off to find some documents that they want a copy of, birth cert, passport, driving licence, council tax bill, copy of all medications that I have to take. That will fill my evening up finding all the relevant documents
    Cheers chums

I actually made the smoked haddock charlotte. Everyone else liked it.

I am beginning to really loathe fish.
