Can you recommend any sites where you can rent self catering accomodation abroad directly from the owners? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks! Do you have any references? for instance, is it a site that's been around for a while, is it well known? Can it be accessed from other countries? I ask because I would like to publish and you have to pay.
Of course, I also prefer to rent directly from owners when I travel!
