Hi all,
I've got a tonne of pdf documents on a flash drive that I would like to be able to read when I have spare time such as travelling to work on the train etc. Printing them all out is time consuming, a waste of paper and not very handy on the train.
So an electronic handheld pdf reading device would be great .....being a computer dumb !!!!!! I dont know whether or not such a gadget even exists!
So I'd like to know whether a fairly cheap, simple, clear, small and handy pdf reader is available from anywhere.
I don't want something that tries to be a laptop computer - it just needs to be able to display pdf documents in fairly high quality (so not some wap style re-formatted rubbish) as it would appear on a PC but obviously on a much smaller size screen.
It doesn't need to be able to connect to the net or anything that advanced - just allow me to read pdf's.
It would be ideal if it could have a USB port to take a flash drive.
Anyone who knows of such a device costing at most 100 quid, I'd be very interested!
Thanks!!

probably the best thing would be to look at Palm, maybe a Handspring - some kind of handheld PDA anyway. I have no idea what they cost though, Check ebay maybe?NBT : Notoriously Bad Typist0

I was hoping to avoid PDA territory firstly because I know nothing about them so I'd have to educate myself about a whole new class of technology. Secondly because I hate having to spend ages comparing and looking for the best spec/value product (the disadvantage of being a money saver!) and thirdly because PDA's seem to do more than I need. I simply need something that reads pdf's.
If PDA's are really the only way forward then could someone please recommend one? Ideally for less than 100 pounds.

I think your going to require something handheld that can support adobe reader. You could probaly get away with something secondhand. Ask in the electronic stores and then go for an earlier model of ebay. Check the specification in google and maybe ask the seller to confirm before bidding. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20

.pdf formatting does not always transfer well to PDA-sized screens. Really depends on the methods and settings used to create the .pdf - some work, some don't.
You CAN preserve the formatting in most cases, but you then need a powerful :(magnifying glass to read the screen!0
