Should I have legal assistance on car insurance?

Is it worth buying legal assistance for my car insurance? I have always paid the extra for it but never used it but then again I have never claimed on my car insurance can someone explain what it is for.

I would say yes, definately get it (depending how much it costs). I pay an extra £10.00 on my car insurance each year for ULR - Uninsured Loss Recovery.

I've used it twice over the last few years and its meant I've had so much less hassle. Both times I've used it is when someone else has driven into my car, so accident wasn't my fault! The first time I had to take my car to a garage quite far away so had to have time off work to get it there and back...."ULR" sorted out getting me payment for mileage, time off work, loss of use of vehicle etc etc. The next time I hurt my back, when the other vehicle hit me from behind, ULR where brilliant then, providing me with a solicitor company to claim medical costs etc.

I'm not sure if the legal expenses you ask about is the same as the "Uninsured Loss Recovery" that I have......but I definately wouldn't be without it in future!
