When we got our planning permission last month it did indeed cost us £150 but there was an additional fee of £25 for something else, the council getting some sort of records out. We had to send 2 seperate chequest.
So be prepared to for out that extra £25.

I really dont think its going to be big enough inside to house a pram and shoes etc. Its going to be an expensive pram store if that's all you wnat it for, you might as well just build a waterproof small shed round the back.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Thanks for letting me know McKneff :)

I think we may have got round the smallness of it - we have measured it out with tape and yes it won't be enormous but we've decided to have it as a hallway extension rather than a porch which will free up the space for shoes etc.

We are still trying to price it up properly before we make any decisions as it isn't much gain in space. We can't actually get from the front to the back garden without going through the house due to the way we had the extension built so although a waterproof shed sounds like a good idea it isn't practical at all. I do appreciate what you are saying though and we have said the words "expensive pram store" ourselves!

Can you buy any of the materials you need in a reclamation yard.

  • well aside from the planning costs there is a cheaper alternative to porch not naming specific suppliers but getting full install packs from any double glazing company can halve the cost some do DIY pack from less than £700 so just case of foundation n floor needed. (Also a very simply DIY job) Add a cheap battery powered light n can also save of electrics cost, after all a small porch like this what else do you really need?.. so bargin basement could get it from £800 upwards for finished product. UPVC is very simple to fit an always plenty of you tube videos to refer how to from. It is shame you had to apply for planning though those extra costs soon mount up. But few extra hundred to double glazing company and they can handle rest for you,,,,:money:
