Continuing saga with Zanussi fridge freezer.

Hi folks,

I bought a zanussi frost free fridge freezer in May 2011 and every 3 mth since the evaporating tray at bottom back of fridge above compressor is full of water, spills over and onto the floor. Nothing is blocked or anything within the fridge freezer itself. I have to pull it out and do a clean up every time. The fridege/freezer keeps the food good and works great that way, not overly packed either

The service engineer has been out loads of times now due for his fifth service call for this problem.

He says that it’s not an air ventilation problem in my kitchen, that it’s due to the fridege/freeaer being so efficient that the compressor doesn't get hot enough to evaporate the water that builds up in evaporating tray above teh compressor

Zanussi customer service are not the worst I am led to believe, have always being very polite when I have spoken to them, but they always leave it down to the engineer and won't let me speak to their technical support, though the service engineer is able to, and has told me that zanussi are aware of this problem.

The fridge freezer was replaced with a new one last January 2012 but still same problem remains, overflowed in April, and now at end of July same story.

I am so frustrated at not getting this problem fixed, a few different evaporating trays have been tried that sit in top of the compressor rather than a few inches above it, but no good. The last time tray was fitted it was jammed in with pieces of polystyrene, to keep it in place, no proper screws. I didn't mind if that worked but it hasn't

If they were at least to tell me it was a ventilation problem around the fridge and to make more space I would understand, but the service engineer says it's not that. There is enough space above top of fridge and around top fridge part, but very little space around freezer part at bottom of fridge where compressor is. I don't see anyone else on internet with same problem.

Any advice gratefully appreciated as I am getting really fed up with this, as I even think it may be a danger as when tray overflows it goes into bottom of fridge around compressor and I see some electrical wiring in there (though it may be an earth of some sort) and I feel it could be a fire hazard.

I am thinking that a non frost free fridge freezer would have been more in my interest.

Thanks for any help.
